Kinematic Chain System

Agom has designed a new bi-directional kinematic chain system for bridge decks. This system focuses all longitudinal movements in only one section of the deck and reduces the number of joints. By fitting the Agom Kinematic Chain it is possible to optimise the structure’s seismic reaction.
 
This system consists of:
- link bars with side plates for load distribution, corrosion protection girdles, and elastic elements to absorb compression loads.
- steel and rubber expansion joints to transfer the compression load between two adjoining deck sections.
 

The Agom Kinematic Chain System is simple to install during slab casting without any additional work or tightening.
 
The  Agom Kinematic Chain System is suitable both for new bridges and for retrofitting existing structures to improve their earthquake and seismic resistance
